Friends of the Richmond Library board of directors recently presented a cheque for $45,000 to Richmond Public Library on January 29, the proceeds derived from Friends' successful book sales in 2024. The funds will be used towards Richmond libraries' projects.

Founded in 1972, Friends of the Richmond Library (FOL) is a non-profit organization with the mission to advocate for and support library services and the freedom to read in Richmond, BC. Two mini sales were held at Cambie Library in January and February 2025 and its annual "Whale of a Book Sale" at Thompson Community Centre is scheduled on March 15 & 16. The FOL used bookstore at #130 - 11590 Cambie Road is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 am to 4 pm. For more information, please go to: richmondfol.ca

A book sale doesn't just happen. FOL appreciates and thanks all the dedicated and hard-working volunteers for the many hours to help sort and price all the donated items that come our way, and many more to set up and conduct each sale. Volunteering with FOL is an opportunity to support the local libraries and contribute to the community. For application, please visit: richmondfol.ca/how-to-join.html
